Grade 5 Unit of Inquiry Site

Grade 5 Teachers & Students  //  For Unit Two,

We're inquiring into how unequal or irresponsible distribution or sharing of finite natural resources can lead to conflict, and how we can resolve and manage conflict.

We need to understand first of all how all resources and humans are all connected, what the different perspectives are about sharing, and how we can be responsible for one another.

Thanks for sharing your ideas, perspectives, and new understanding!

I think that I'm a very lucky person cause I've got clean water, eat three
meals a day and go to a good ,expinsive school and have loving
parents. These kids peobably don't have clean safe water to drink, probably
don't eat three meals a day, and instead of being in school studying
,they're probably working and starving while they're working.Just typing
these words give me sad thoughts.

Child Soldiers

Posted by email
Today I read this book called "A Life Like Mine". I felt really lucky
compared to this kid that used to be a child soldier. But then I tought, "How did he escape?"
My question is how they escape and what do they do after?

When I was a soldier By Valerie Zenatti

Posted by email
The book I am reading about child soldiers, is called 'when I was a
soldier'. It's a true story about Valerie Zenatti when she was about 18
she had to go to war with her two best friends: Rahel and Yulia. This book
was very interesting though I have not finished reading it all. It shows a
life of being in an army.

The Book

Hi

The Book a flicked through today was called:
A Life Like Mine: How Children Live Around The World. That book was A Dorling Kindersley
Book. I think that book is really useful. It is easy to understand
too. Since it has lots of pictures and colorful pages.
Also there is alot of information.
